Let’s face it! The holidays are a very busy and stressful time of year for most people. Unfortunately, the season that’s supposed to a time to celebrate joy and spending time with loved ones turns into excessive commercialism, shopping, fighting and often creates feelings of loneliness, depression and illness for many.
Today, you will learn how to stay grounded and prevent illness over the holiday season this year.
When you’re able to stay grounded, prevent illness and feel your best during a stressful time you will be able to better handle what comes your way with ease and grace and enjoy yourself. It’s no fun to be busy, stressed and be sick! It’s no wonder many people feel miserable during this time fo year.
Let’s dive right in:
1) Bask in stillness & breathe:
One of the best ways to stay grounded and healthy this season is to take time to enjoy some stillness, silence and focus on your breath. Even if just for a few minutes a day. When you are able to be still, physically and mentally, you will allow the stress and worries that could potentially take you down to fall away. You will also have the chance to listen to your hearts desires and see what else you can do to support yourself during this time of year. Put on a relaxing meditation, breathe and enjoy.
2) Self-care:
Although you may thinking about how much you need to get done or who you need to buy gifts for be sure to take time for yourself. That could mean treating yourself to a gift that you’ve always wanted, take a time out to read or take a bath. Self-care during this time will be critical to staying grounded and healthy this holiday season. For more self-care tips CLICK HERE.
3) Fuel your body properly:
No one wants to spend the holidays sick but one thing you cannot expect your body to do is stay healthy, energized and grounded if you have been eating nothing but processed food and sugar. Although it’s tempting to eat all the sugary treats in sight, give yourself permission to enjoy a little but ensure that the majority of what you’re eating is nutritious whole-foods, mostly fruits and veggies, that will support your immune system to help ward off any pesky viruses and give you the energy you need to do what needs to be done over the holidays. The easiest way to me to get fast and nutritious nutriton in during busy times is taking my fruit and veggies in a capsule and drinking smoothies!
4) Move your body:
I get it… you likely feel like you hardly have anytime to think let along to exercise. However, even just a simple 20 minutes of movement per day can help keep you string and healthy during the holiday season. Part of great heath is regular movement as this is what our body was built for! You many not feel like getting up and working out in the morning or doing it after a long day at work and running around shopping but trust me… once you get moving you will feel so much better!
